About Us

We're Jordyn's Soul Cafe, and we're an upscale soul food restaurant serving Chicago, IL, since 2022. There's no need to search for that perfect blend of soul food and fine dining because it's right here! We specialize in premium comfort food with a menu that includes everything from soul food classics to modern twists on those classics. Our owner created this restaurant to honor her late daughter and to serve Chicagoland areas delectable dishes inspired by her mother. We go above and beyond to make sure that your experience is both memorable and delicious. Stop by today for your next meal!

As of February 2026 we are no longer accepting cash. All major credit/debit cards along with Apple Pay will be accepted. Automatic gratuity of 20% will be applied to all tables.

Our Story

Jordyn’s Soul Café is a premier soul food restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. Owner Angel McDonald opened up this business in honor of her late daughter, Jordyn. Angel has been working in the restaurant industry for many years and has always had a passion for cooking. The recipes she serves at Jordyn's Soul Café are close to her heart and have been passed down by her mother. Angel is dedicated to providing her customers with delicious food that is made from scratch daily, using only the freshest ingredients. She takes pride in providing customers with quality service and ensuring that all dishes served are prepared with care and love. Angel created a space that is second to none in its ambiance, and our food is beautifully presented with artistic attention to detail. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience while dining with us!

Our goal at Jordyn’s Soul Café is to provide great food that makes people happy and to serve our customers with dignity, respect, and compassion while working hard to provide them with an experience they will never forget. The food, the wait staff, the management, were ALL exceptional! The deviled eggs w/ shrimp, jerk chicken, collard greens, mac cheese, candid yams, smothered jerk pork chops, everything was absolutely delicious! Our server, Trey was the absolute best with his recommendations, hospitality and smile. Jordan was friendly and hospitable and the manager Jaythan, was kind and attentive. This place is a whole vibe and it's only 2 miles away from the Obama Presidential Center. If you are in Hyde Park, don't miss this place, you won't be disappointed!
